Hahn began when four friends with a shared passion for high quality beer came together to brew a better beer for all Australians.

True to their own brand story, Hahn and Res Publica got together to develop Hahn JumpStart – a program that encourages Australians to get together with their friends, come up with an idea and share this passion for the opportunity to bring their idea to life.

We encouraged teams of two or more to upload their idea to the online platform, hahnjumpstart.com.au, for the opportunity to not only receive up to $25,000, but a tailored mentoring program with five of Australia’s top young entrepreneurs.

Starting with our campaign ambassador, Jack Delosa, we recruited credible and engaging talent to be our Hahn JumpStart mentors. Having already established two multi-million dollar businesses, at the age of 27 Jack is the Founder of The Entourage, Australia’s largest community of entrepreneurs.

Our mentors came from a broad range of industries, including Founder of Braaap Motorcycles and twice named Australian Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Brad Smith; Founders and Owners of Bondi Hardware, The Botanist and So Cal, Ben Carroll and Hamish Watts; and the brains behind innovative app, TheBestDay, Whitney Komor.

The campaign was supported by a suite of content developed with Hahn’s agency partners and seeded to a range of media and social outlets and through Hahn’s own channels.

70 media, influencers and other guests attended the launch event at Bondi Hardware. The event kicked off the media relations and content seeding campaigns, which saw coverage across outlets including news.com.au, The Daily Telegraph, The Sun Herald, The West Australian and The New Daily, as well as more than 420k views of the brand story on YouTube.

From the pool of entries, 10 finalist groups were selected to attend a two day ‘Judging Experience’ at Jack Delosa’s Entrepreneur Development Centre in Sydney. Day One saw finalists take part in training sessions from Jack, the mentors and other industry professionals. The sessions offered tips and advice to the finalists, with the aim of helping to equip them with the skills needed to get their businesses off the ground. Day two then saw the teams pitch their idea to our Judging Panel to prove why they should win.

The Judging Experience culminated in the winners’ announcement event at Play Bar in Surry Hills. Bindle, a mobile app for travellers, was named as the People’s Choice winner, and Bambidi Surf, a new style surf retreat, was awarded Runner Up. Each team received a $5,000 cash prize and mentoring sessions from the Hahn JumpStart mentors. The Major Prize Winner was Roomeaze – an app that provides a convenient and secure way of connecting compatible roommates. The Roomeaze team were awarded a $20,000 cash boost to get their idea off the ground, along with a tailored mentoring package.

With over 70 pieces of coverage achieved so far, and with an editorial reach of over 19.5 million, Hahn JumpStart has been a huge success.
