QUEENSLANDERS TAKE ON TOUGH MUDDER WITH BILLY MOORE
Thousands of Queenslanders got down and dirty at the South East Queensland Tough Mudder event at the Sirromet Winery in Mt Cotton – kicking off the 2016 Tough Mudder season in Australia. The revamped 18-20km course tested the teamwork, mental and physical strength of Queenslanders. They set out to prove they were the toughest State in Australia by tackling some of the new obstacles including Pyramid Scheme, The Liberator and The Block Ness Monster.
In the lead up to the event we engaged Billy Moore, Australian Rugby League player and State of Origin legend, as the Tough Mudder ambassador and he was mobilised to encourage Queenslanders to toughen up. More than 200 participants signed up for the world-first singles start wave in the pursuit of finding some-muddy to love on the course and hundreds of mums swapped breakfast in bed for mud with Day 2 falling on Mother’s Day.
All of these great personal and inspirational stories resulted in a raft of regional media coverage in support of their local people getting out there and proving they were made of tough stuff.
