Celebrating 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall with Beck’s

We were asked by German beer brand Beck’s to suggest ways in which it could mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Taking our inspiration from the way liberated Berliners moved into unusual spaces to express their creativity immediately after the Wall fell, we came up with the idea of developing a series of commemorative photography exhibitions for display in selected pubs and bars around the country.

We had an ‘ace’ up our sleeve in that Tim Buesing, Creative Director at Beck’s digital agency, Holler, lived in Berlin at the time the wall came down. Tim was able to draw on his personal experience, as well as his considerable creative talent, to bring the concept to life.

The result, Berlin: 20 Years /20 Hours, follows the lives of three real Berliners as they encounter the altered face of the city twenty years after the fall of the Wall.  As well as providing engaging content for bar-goers, the exhibition has also enabled us to secure some great media coverage for Beck’s, with stories featuring in The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times (Perth), The Courier Mail, MX Melbourne and radio coverage and interviews on FM and AM radio stations including Triple J’s The Hack.
